In Whose Image

If you are female
In a patriarchal culture,
You are made in the image
Of tall, male gods.
You kneel at their feet
And humbly defer
To their all-wise rule.
When you awake
From your patriarchal sleep,
You see in whose image
You have really been made.
If you have courage,
You get off your knees,
Stand beside
Those tall, false gods,
Then turn to look
For another God.
